Our work also encompasses an active cord blood sample collection programme, which supports a wide range of research groups in our department and outside haematology. Cord blood and its derivatives are a rich source of haematopoietic stem and progenitor cells and offer unique reagents for the study of normal and malignant haematopoiesis, as well as the derivation of mature blood progeny and other forms of stem cells.
