The International Conference on Ribosome Synthesis: from Mechanisms to Therapy will be held in Cambridge, UK, from 7th – 12th September 2025 and will bring together approximately 200 biomedical researchers. The researchers will share and discuss their latest investigations on how the cellular protein factories called ribosomes are assembled. Participants will explore new strategies to target the process of ribosome synthesis to develop novel therapeutics for devastating diseases, including bone marrow failure disorders caused by mutations in ribosome synthesis factors and common forms of cancer. Researchers investigating the formation of bacterial ribosomes will also attend this conference, aiming to inform the development of new strategies to kill bacteria by targeting this process through the development of novel antibiotics.

The participants, including trainees, will represent a wide range of disciplines, from molecular biology to clinicians and industry representatives. This conference will facilitate the exchange of the latest research methods and results, inspiring the delivery of future strategies in biomedical and translational research. It will also contribute to training the next generation of researchers and enable the formation of productive new interdisciplinary collaborations. Ultimately, this conference aims to promote the development of new treatment strategies for cancer, bacterial infection and inherited diseases.
